What's in a Name?

How did you choose a name for your pet?  Maybe you chose a name based on the color of your pet or chose one based on your pet's personality.  Do you know a dog named Spot, a cat called Socks, or a horse named Dusty?

A baby horse is called a foal.  When a foal is born, owners of racehorses often choose a name that combines the names of the foal’s father (the sire) and mother (the dam).  For example, the names Gallant Fox and Martha Snow were combined to create the name Snow Fox.
